Long before little Miss Kassidy was even thought of, it was just the two of us. Ten years ago yesterday (May 7) we were united together as man and wife. I can hardly believe it has been ten years. For those of you who do not know, Billy and I were among those who became the online veterans of online dating. He was stationed in GA and we stumbled on each other while we were both in a WV online chat room. He was just chatting with people in the WV chat room because he was missing home and wanted any kind of connection with what was going on back home and I was just killing time which I did frequently. I was one of those "online addicts." It's so funny thinking back on those times now because what seems so normal now was just beginning those days and to actually talk to somebody online and meet them in person was such an odd thing to do. After talking for awhile, when he came home to visit family we would meet up and go out. Before long we were engaged. Although we had an upcoming wedding, we would not be together for awhile yet. We got engaged and then he went to Korea and we were married when he came home on midtour from Korea. Then after he came back from Korea we moved to Fort Bragg NC where we have managed to stay for the whole length of our marriage. We weren't too terribly old when we got married but we weren't spring chickens either so both of us were sort of set in our ways. While we were set in our own ways somewhat and very different from each other, the first half of our marriage was an adventure for sure. As most, we had to get used to one another and had to decide what we could and couldn't live with in the other. I think now after ten years we have got each other figured out pretty well and we love each other very much. While there will always be days when we may have a disagreement or argument or one or both of us are having a bad day and use the other as a way to vent, we have weathered many storms that has made us stronger not only individually but also as a couple. Many things have happened to shape our lives over the last ten years with the biggest change of course being our little Kassidy. We have found that adding a baby to the mix is definitely a challenge but the best thing that has ever happened to us. I am so glad I am married to a man who provides so well for Kassidy and I. He is always willing to make a sacrifice in whatever way he needs to in order to give us what we need and that is one of the reasons he is where he is today. Thank you honey for being such a great husband and loving daddy! I only hope that I can spend many years to come with you and experience many more things in our lives together.
