It has finally come. At 10 AM Monday morning China time which is 10 PM Sunday night EST we will have Kassidy in our arms. It seems we really have not had any substantial amount of downtime from the start of this trip to now and it doesn't seem like it is going to get any less hectic. We are so excited about physically having her instead of just having her in our hearts. We will take many pics and post as soon as possible. We had another flight to Central China (Wuhan) that was around 1-1/2 hours long. Then we got on a bus and traveled for another 45 minutes to get to our hotel. Oh about our hotel....WOW! As you can see in the pics, it is amazing. If only I could take pics of the outside at night you would really be amazed but the reflection against the window does not allow for good pics. It is like being in a hotel in the middle of time square. There is the big TV screens in the middle of the intersections and lights flashing all up and down the skyscrapers. We thought we were going to be downgrading from the White Swan Hotel but NOT! We certainly will not mind staying in this place for six nights. Tonight we had a meeting with all the families and our guide here in Wuhan. Our guide is Joanna and she helped us to do some MORE paperwork, answered questions we had, provided us with the baby food/formula/snacks that our child is used to eating, and gave us some tips on what to do with our baby (especially us first timers). Although even if you have babies there is one slight detail that China babies could possibly differ on. Even with Kassidy being less than 9 months old, she has already been partially potty-trained as has many of the babies. We actually got some earlier paperwork with our referral in the first week of July that mentioned getting her up several times during the night to take her to use the bathroom. Tonight it even added that she did not wear diapers but rather you take her to the toilet every hour and when an adult whistles she will use the bathroom if she needs to. I know..you are saying "YEAH RIGHT!" That is what we say but our guide stressed to us that this is the way of the Chinese and probably due to the expense of diapers. We will see. If she is partially potty-trained then we definitely want to take advantage of that but at the same time we will continue the whistling but diapers for backup until we are fully convinced there will be very few accidents. hehe
