Wow...what a trip! We went through so many time zone changes that I am still confused as to how long it actually took us in traveling time but I do know it was somewhere in the range of 32 hours give or take a few. Our travel went fairly smoothly without many problems other than one flight from Tokyo to China was cancelled so they boarded us on another flight and we got there the same time as we would have before if not a little earlier. We were able to meet up with most of the other people in our travel group who are here with us and going to be getting their babies at the same time and will be in the hotels at the same time. They all seem so nice. We also were able to meet in person Mark and Beth with whom we have become rather close friends with through this process over the last few months. The plane rides have definitely gotten the best of us and we are ready to go to bed. We did not get here until around 12 AM and have freshened up and able to get settled in for the next two nights and then we will be traveling to central China on a 1-1/2 hour plane ride on Sunday and on Monday morning we will be receiving our babies. While I am so anxious to get her, I am also thankful for a couple nights of rest so that we will be able to enjoy the moment more with being rested. It was a 40 minute bus ride from the airport to the hotel and the sites at night with just that little bit of time are so wild. Every building is many stories high and there are definitely few dryers with all buildings/apartments having a small balcony with all of their laundry being hung to dry. The White Swan Hotel is where we are staying and it is definitely nice. I am including a few trips of us along the journey to get here. Will try to keep updating every day if possible and keeping you up to date on what we are doing but most importantly will try to get some pics of Kassidy on here as soon as possible.
Well good night and will hopefully hear from some of you guys and hopefully will be able to make a few phone calls during this trip depending on when we can find time to compare what the best way to do that it. Have a good day.
The pic above is of road signs to the hotel from the airport. The next three pics are of our hotel room here in Guangzhou. It is rather nice. It has great view of the downtown area and partially of a river that runs right past our hotel. Hopefully, when it is daylight I will be able to take pics of the outside view. I tried tonight but the reflections of the lights did not show the effects of the view so I will try again tomorrow.
This is the bus we rode from the aiport to our hotel. Funny store is that while we were riding along on a four lane highway, there was a man with his sleeping mat rolled out on the far right lane sleeping. It looked as if he had a big truck and may have been working construction on the road or something but not really sure. I just don't think that would very safe. hehe
This is the woman and sign we saw when arriving through customs at Guangzhou, China. The woman you see with us is Grace, our CCAI representative. Whenever we stay in Gaungzhou (which will be the first two nights and then six nights at the last leg of journey) she will be our more or less go to person and will get us to where we need to go and take care of us in any way possible.
This is our friends Mark and Beth that we met up with in San Francisco. They have been great supports through this process and we are so happy to be sharing this experience with them.
