Day Two

Day two started out with a breakfast buffet which included everything from Western (American) food and Chinese food. The hotel's restaurant area is located at a window that overlooks a river and a waterfall and koi pond. After breakfast we met our tour guide and the rest in our adoption group. Our tour guide took us out and about the surrounding areas for about 30 minutes to get us familiar with some respectible and safe restaurants and places of business for doing our laundy, buying souvenirs, etc. Below you will also see a little girl in a stroller. We met this woman who was not in our adoption group but was staying at the White Swan at the same time. Her little girl was 2-1/2 years old and very, very cute but when Billy went to ask for some of her fruit loop cereal she became very unhappy and made it clear that she was not sharing. hehe The story behind this little girl is unbelievable. After coming here and being with her, the mother noticed a scar on her side. When she inquired she learned that the orphanage had sold her kidney for profit and apparently a few others in her group had babies with the same thing that happened to them. They had been okay with getting a special needs child so they knew something was wrong but that particular type of information about her kidney had not been revealed. So of course the mother cannot get her mind off this as she has not been urinating. A doctor's appointment for her when she gets back to the United States is imminent and hopefully they can get the matter corrected for any complications that she is facing at this moment. You will also see pics of many photo shoots of wedding couplets getting photographed. I have heard that many will come there to just get their pictures done for their wedding. There were couples everywhere in wedding attire. We do have a 7-11 across the street and a Starbucks just a few blocks away. We will be heading out tomorrow on a flight to the City of Wuhan which is where Kassidy is from and will receive her the next day. I still have more to post and I am sure will have more pics later throughout the day and will try to post once more today. It is now almost 1 PM on Saturday and it is definitely nap time. The beds are so hard and we got about 5 hours of sleep which definitely is not enough so we are about to rest before we go back out and look around before our group dinner tonight at a local Thai restaurant. Like I said earlier, I am going to try to update the blog as necessary so continue looking. Tomorrow (Sunday) morning, we will be going to Wuhan, the city where we will be receiving Kassidy. We will get her on Monday. That is the day where you will be wanting to check out our blogspot to see the pics of her. I cannot wait. Again, thanks so much for thinking of us and will talk to you soon. We have received an international phone card earlier, however it only has 38 minutes on it so we have and still do have intentions of doing most of communication online. We also are able to obtain our emails so if you would like to personally communicate with us then just send us an email the regular way.

Ask housekeeping for some extra down comforters to sleep on! If you get enough it makes those beds a bit more tolerable! :)

Enjoy dinner tonight - I LOVE the Cow and Bridge!

Can't wait to see pics of Kassidy!
