China Schedule

Well...we seem to have gotten a lot done over this past week. We have our flights scheduled, our bags mostly packed except for the last minute essentials, sending in our money today to CCAI (adoption agency) to go ahead with our reservations for any in-China flights and hotel rooms, and we would like to think that we also have most of the paperwork done until we get to China but we're sure there will be some that keep creeping up until we actually are gone. The paperwork certainly never ends whether it is pertaining to the adoption or the travel accomodations. However, all this paperwork is nothing in comparison to the excitement of getting Kassidy. Below we are giving an itinerary for while we are in China. Of course, the specifics of it could change if need be but overall this should be what we look to be doing and the timeframe we are doing them in if you are interested. We hope to be able to post updates on a daily basis while in China so you can all follow our journey and hopefully catch a few glimpses of the areas of China that we will be staying with, of course, more pictures of Kassidy than anything else. The entries may, indeed, be short as I am sure we will be working on not being sleep deprived and tending to the needs of Kassidy first but are certainly going to try to keep you updated because I know many of you will be anxious to see what is going on and how Kassidy looks to date. She will, of course, be close to four months older than her pictures that we posted so we are sure that she will have changed.

Itinerary

8/14-8/15 At 6 AM we will fly from Raleigh to Detroit; Detroit to San Fran; San Fran to Tokyo (stopping but not getting off the plane); Tokyo to Guangzhou, China at 11 pm their time (which is 12 hours ahead of us on the east coast) where we will be staying for the next three nights.
8/16 Free time. Rest. Tour. Shop.
8/17 Leave Guangzhou and fly to Wuhan (where Kassidy is). The paperwork now begins again.
8/18 Gotcha Day! We receive Kassidy and a medical consultant will come visit us in our room to look Kassidy over and make sure she is okay.
8/19 Complete adoption registration and notarization and adoption is finalized.
8/20 Shop for baby supplies and wait for adoption paperwork.
8/21 Half day of sight seeing.
8/22 Receive Kassidy's registration certificate and passport and then a celebration party!
8/23 Leave Wuhan to go back to Guangzhou to do another week's worth of paperwork and procedures.
8/24 Free time, rest, shop and tour.
8/25 Kassidy's visa physical and photo taken. Get more baby supplies. Meet with your CCAI reps to get together all needed information for consulate appointment in a few days.
8/26 Free time, rest, shop and tour.
8/27 Consulate appointment and Kassidy's visa application delivered to US Consulate.
8/28 Take oath at U.S. Consulate. Receive Kassidy's visa packet.
8/29 Ready to go home! Will leave Guangzhou at 8:20 AM to Tokyo; Tokyo Detroit; Detroit to Raleigh around 7 PM and jump in a car and get home as fast as possible (don't worry...we won't speed...had too many tickets as of late). Home Sweet Home! I'm sure we will be ready for our own bed and own home with our own new sweet baby girl!
